The National Conference of Black Mayors has established a partnership with the Sustainable Community Development Group, Inc. to execute “The Greening of Brownfields Program. The program was awarded a grant from the U.S.

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Resources provided by the EPA grant would assist NCBM mayors in their brownfields redevelopment efforts by tapping into the green economy to re-use idle properties in ways that address equity and community quality of life, including green design, green buildings and technologies, energy conservation, recycling, relevant certification programs, and employment options posed by green collar jobs.
