Leadership Development Internship Program

internship programNCBM Leadership Development Internship Program

This program offers invaluable work experience for a ten-week academic semester in the spring and the fall, along with an eight -week summer session. This affords undergraduate students attending an accredited four-year institution an opportunity to merge their academic experience with practical professional application. College sophomores, juniors and seniors in any academic discipline, ethnic background or culture are welcome to apply.  This internship is designed to help students begin to think critically about the issues that currently affect our society both domestically and internationally along with their role and responsibility in helping to create healthy and vibrant communities that continue to swell with new exciting leadership.

It is NCBM’s goal that, at the end of 10 weeks, students will be able to take the information they have learned and create a comprehensive development strategy to bring resolution to an issue plaguing our society. The student with the most innovative strategic plan will be invited to the Annual Convention to present his/her idea and will receive a $5,000 stipend to begin implementation of this program in their home city and/or their university city that has a mayor of NCBM membership.
