Criminal and Social Justice Committee
The Criminal and Social Justice Committee considers the workings of the criminal justice system, issues related to crime and society, and also human dignity and human and civil rights
Energy and Environment Committee
The Energy and Environment Committee expresses a local government perspective on energy production, use, and conservation; and issues related to protecting and preserving the natural environment.
Rural Development Committee
The Rural Development Committee concerns itself with the special circumstances of small and rural communities and the special strategies and programs that are used to promote community and economic development in rural areas.
Transportation and Communications Committee
The Transportation Committee considers matters related to the essential infrastructure needs of municipalities, such as transportation development, financing, and safety; and telecommunications access, innovation and implementation.
Jobs and Workforce Committee
The Jobs and Workforce Committee deals with efforts to create and retain jobs; and secure employment and training resources for cities. It considers key issues in workforce development, particularly those affecting communities with high levels of unemployment and workers who face barriers to employment.
International Affairs Committee
The International Affairs Committee is concerned with international trade and cultural exchange. It also monitors international affairs within the countries that NCBM has formed partnerships.
Health and Human Services Committee
The Health and Human Services Committee focuses on avenues to overcome the barriers to access to affordable and quality health care and other vital social services. The committee also deals with research pertaining to health disparities in communities of color across the nation.
The Education Committee focuses on the operations of the nation’s educational systems and policies related to equitable resource distribution, curriculum development, standardized testing, and access to quality education.
